Despite a disappointment, a good price for Destiny Deacon
When the work Australian Meloncholy Sic by Destiny Deacon was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 4,560.00 (€ 2,680.91). Despite this disappointing result, Australian Meloncholy Sic is the most expensive artwork by Destiny Deacon that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Destiny Deacon
Als die Arbeit Australian Meloncholy Sic von Destiny Deacon im August 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 4.560,00 (€ 2.680,91) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Australian Meloncholy Sic das teuerste Kunstwerk von Destiny Deacon, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
