Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Sothebys in London held the auction The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3, which included the work Nude by Derrick Greaves. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,344.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derrick Greaves achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Labourers with dog in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,684.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2010 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude von Derrick Greaves zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.344,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derrick Greaves erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Labourers with dog im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.684,35).
