Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian punk, Spunk And Green Rain For The Heart by Del Kathryn Barton. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 72,000.00 (€ 42,029.86), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Del Kathryn Barton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nobody's Baby Now, 2008, which sold at auction in November 2020 for AUD 129,150.00 (€ 108,093.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian punk, Spunk And Green Rain For The Heart von Del Kathryn Barton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 72.000,00 (€ 42.029,86) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Del Kathryn Barton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nobody's Baby Now, 2008 beobachtet, die im November 2020 für AUD 129.150,00 (€ 108.093,40) versteigert wurde.
