This artwork by Dean Cornwell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2015. In the American Art auction, the work The Wonders of Ivory (Swapping Yarns) sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,849.19) - well above the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dean Cornwell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).

In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit The Wonders of Ivory (Swapping Yarns) für USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.849,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dean Cornwell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 137.500,00 (€ 115.565,64) versteigert wurde.
