In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern American Art, which included the work "The governor was speaking now..." by Dean Cornwell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,710.00 (€ 9,701.09), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dean Cornwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit "The governor was speaking now..." von Dean Cornwell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 9.701,09) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dean Cornwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 115.565,64).
