Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Stage was Set... and Then Came the Upset! by Dean Cornwell was sold in the An American Summer auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,372.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dean Cornwell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).

Die Arbeit The Stage was Set... and Then Came the Upset! von Dean Cornwell wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion An American Summer bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.560,00 (€ 6.372,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dean Cornwell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 115.565,64).
