Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Return from the Cross by Dean Cornwell was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,605.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Dean Cornwell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 137,500.00 (€ 115,565.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Return from the Cross von Dean Cornwell kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 23.605,55) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dean Cornwell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study for 'The History of Transportation' Mural im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 137.500,00 (€ 115.565,64).
