Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Teniers I could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work The Preaching of John the Baptist changed hands for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,220.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Teniers I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Meeting of Jacob and Laban in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 254,500.00 (€ 302,401.06).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Teniers I konnte im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit The Preaching of John the Baptist für USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.220,08) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Teniers I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Meeting of Jacob and Laban im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 254.500,00 (€ 302.401,06).
