Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2015 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work Mercury espying Herse and her sisters by David Teniers I. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 11,875.00 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Teniers I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Meeting of Jacob and Laban in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 254,500.00 (€ 302,401.06).
