Despite a disappointment, a good price for David Monies
When the work Danish the Picnic by David Monies was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,469.30). Despite this disappointing result, Danish the Picnic is the most expensive artwork by David Monies that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für David Monies
Als die Arbeit Danish the Picnic von David Monies im November 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.469,30) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Danish the Picnic das teuerste Kunstwerk von David Monies, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
