Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Dundee Magnolia by David McClure. The price achieved of GBP 1,275.00 (€ 1,483.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David McClure achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figure in an Interior in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 18,800.00 (€ 29,916.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dundee Magnolia von David McClure zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.275,00 (€ 1.483,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David McClure erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figure in an Interior im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.800,00 (€ 29.916,72).
