Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by David Kroll was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 206.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Kroll achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, 1999 in February 2021 with an auction result of USD 2,805.00 (€ 2,319.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von David Kroll im Dezember 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 206,59) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Kroll erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, 1999 im Februar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.805,00 (€ 2.319,52).
