Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD auction, the work Mist, from Weather Series sold for USD 44,100.00 (€ 40,562.91) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Hockney erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition: New York: Featuring the Collection of Kenwal Steel in Support of GLAAD wurde die Arbeit Mist, from Weather Series für USD 44.100,00 (€ 40.562,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
