Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Hammons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in March 2014. In the Under the Influence auction, the work African American Flag sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 11,795.02) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hammons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 8,005,000.00 (€ 5,883,433.78).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hammons erzielen.
