In the Important American Furniture, Folk Art, Silver, Paintings and Prints including Masterworks from the Westervelt Company and Selections from Thomas Molesworth's Ranch A Commission auction, the work Recruits Wanted sold for USD 93,750.00 (€ 69,264.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Gilmour Blythe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Family Prayers and The Sequel: A Pair of Works, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 252,000.00 (€ 220,241.22).
