Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A gentleman in open black coat and white waistcoat, powdered hair by David Gibson was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Selected Silver, and auction at Christies in London in November 2005. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 350.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 384.00 (€ 564.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Gibson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Count Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov (1782-1856) in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,651.65).
