Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work Grapes, peaches, a pomegranate and pineapple before a tazza by David De Noter. It changed hands for a price of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,190.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David De Noter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La lecture, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 50,000.00 (€ 70,499.37).
