In the Old Master and British Paintings auction, the work Hydrangeas, Morning Glories, A Parrot Tulip And Other Flowers With Grapes, Oranges, Cherries, Blackberries, Ears Of Corn, Loquats, And Chestnuts, With Two Snails, Hanging From A Blue Bow In A Feigned Arched Stone Niche sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,968.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Cornelisz. De Heem - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A tulip, pink roses, a crown imperial lily and other flowers in a glass vase, all on a stone ledge, surrounded by butterflies, which sold at auction in November 2010 for EUR 67,000.00.
