In the Old Master Paintings Part II auction, the work Grapes, A Lemon, Oysters, A Chestnut, Blackberries And Other Citrus Fruits On A Stone Ledge With Butterflies, A Fly, A Bee And Ants sold for USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,765.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Cornelisz. De Heem - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A tulip, pink roses, a crown imperial lily and other flowers in a glass vase, all on a stone ledge, surrounded by butterflies, which sold at auction in November 2010 for EUR 67,000.00.
