The price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,248.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David de Coninck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A peacock, wild turkey, hares, and pigeons in a garden, a landscape beyond; and A hare and game birds with three dogs, a landscape beyond, which sold at auction in June 2015 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 112,067.42).
