A top price for David Dalby - as previously expected
The work Jerry, winner of the 1824 St. Leger, with Ben Smith up, by a post at Doncaster by David Dalby was sold in the SPORTING ART auction at Christies in London in November 2002. It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,560.00 (€ 14,970.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Jerry, winner of the 1824 St. Leger, with Ben Smith up, by a post at Doncaster is the most expensive artwork by David Dalby that we have observed at auctions so far.
