Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Acteon beating Memnon by David Dalby. It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,536.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by David Dalby have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2002 the work Jerry, winner of the 1824 St. Leger, with Ben Smith up, by a post at Doncaster was auctioned for GBP 9,560.00 (€ 14,970.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Acteon beating Memnon von David Dalby zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.736,00 (€ 8.536,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von David Dalby konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2002 die Arbeit Jerry, winner of the 1824 St. Leger, with Ben Smith up, by a post at Doncaster für GBP 9.560,00 (€ 14.970,47) versteigert.
