In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work The Three Violinists by David Carr. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 1,999.68), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Carr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man And Machine II, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).

Im Juli 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Three Violinists von David Carr zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 1.999,68) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von David Carr mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man And Machine II beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52) versteigert wurde.
