Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Carr could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Man and machine changed hands for GBP 750.00 (€ 883.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by David Carr have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Man And Machine II in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,840.00 (€ 5,702.52).

Dieses Kunstwerk von David Carr konnte im Februar 2011 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Man and machine für GBP 750,00 (€ 883,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Carr auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Man And Machine II im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 5.702,52).
