Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Gainsborough Farm by David Brian Smith. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,457.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Brian Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Great Expectations - A Windy Day, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,213.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gainsborough Farm von David Brian Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.457,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Brian Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Great Expectations - A Windy Day beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 20.000,00 (€ 23.213,40) versteigert wurde.
