Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work The Road To The Pyramids, Cairo by David Bates for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,455.23). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Bates achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991 in September last year with an auction result of USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Road To The Pyramids, Cairo von David Bates für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.455,23) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Bates erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trucks and Trailers, 1991 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.855,00 (€ 62.204,85).
