It achieved a price of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,354.34), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 31%. Admittedly, works by David Bates have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991 in September last year with an auction result of USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).

Die Arbeit Glen Falloch, Above Ardlui von David Bates wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.354,34) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 31%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Bates auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trucks and Trailers, 1991 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.855,00 (€ 62.204,85).
