Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors Including the Tessa Kennedy Collection, which included the work A Spring Day by David Bates. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,210.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Bates achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991 in September last year with an auction result of USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors Including the Tessa Kennedy Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Spring Day von David Bates zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.210,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Bates erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trucks and Trailers, 1991 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.855,00 (€ 62.204,85).
