Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Nightwatchman by David Band was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 418.25 (€ 262.30). Admittedly, works by David Band have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work My Favourite Things (Let It Bleed) in August 2004 with an auction result of AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,080.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Nightwatchman von David Band im November 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 418,25 (€ 262,30) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Band auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit My Favourite Things (Let It Bleed) im August 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.080,73).
