Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Darren Almond achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April 2021. In the Photographs auction, the work email protected River sold for USD 18,900.00 (€ 15,710.72) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Darren Almond have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Six Months Later in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,791.07).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Darren Almond erzielte im April 2021 bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit email protected River für USD 18.900,00 (€ 15.710,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Darren Almond auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Six Months Later im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.791,07).
