Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Weight Lifters, Ramsey Unit, Texas Prison, 1968 by Danny Lyon was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 3,528.00 (€ 3,348.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Danny Lyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,250.76).

Die Arbeit Weight Lifters, Ramsey Unit, Texas Prison, 1968 von Danny Lyon wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.528,00 (€ 3.348,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Danny Lyon erzielen.
