Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Danny Lyon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April last year. In the Photographs auction, the work Knoxville, 1967 sold for USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,957.86) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Danny Lyon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,250.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Danny Lyon erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Knoxville, 1967 für USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.957,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Danny Lyon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 89.250,76).
