Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Arrest on Federal Building Steps, Selma, Alabama, 1963 by Danny Lyon was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,826.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Danny Lyon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 in October 2006 with an auction result of USD 114,000.00 (€ 89,250.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Arrest on Federal Building Steps, Selma, Alabama, 1963 von Danny Lyon kam im April letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.826,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Danny Lyon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Conversations with the Dead, 1967-1968 im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 114.000,00 (€ 89.250,76).
