Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Standard Bearer by Daniel Maclise was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2007. The price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 8,077.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Maclise achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Wrestling Scene in 'As You Like It' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 314,650.00 (€ 459,379.08).

Die Arbeit The Standard Bearer von Daniel Maclise kam im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 8.077,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Daniel Maclise erzielen.
