Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art, which included the work British Henry Viii'S First Interview With Anne Boleyn by Daniel Maclise. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 40,168.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Daniel Maclise achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Wrestling Scene in 'As You Like It' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 314,650.00 (€ 459,379.08).
