Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Twilight of the Gods by Dana Schutz. The price achieved of GBP 52,920.00 (€ 61,589.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dana Schutz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elevator in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 50,050,000.00 (€ 5,279,190.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Twilight of the Gods von Dana Schutz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 52.920,00 (€ 61.589,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dana Schutz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elevator im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 50.050.000,00 (€ 5.279.190,52).
