In June this year Bonhams held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Goosey-Goosey Gander, From Nursery Rhymes by Paula Rego. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,664.00 (€ 1,936.61), 66% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paula Rego achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 3,065,000.00 (€ 3,519,471.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 66 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Goosey-Goosey Gander, From Nursery Rhymes von Paula Rego zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.664,00 (€ 1.936,61) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paula Rego erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.065.000,00 (€ 3.519.471,52).
