Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Magdalene Odundo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the (Women) Artists auction, the work Untitled (Early Vessel) sold for GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,728.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Magdalene Odundo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2021 with an auction result of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 440,468.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Magdalene Odundo erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion (Women) Artists wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Early Vessel) für GBP 10.080,00 (€ 11.728,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Magdalene Odundo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 378.000,00 (€ 440.468,26).
