Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lucie Rie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in September 2020. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Bowl sold for GBP 1,638.00 (€ 1,806.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucie Rie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yellow Footed Bowl With Bronzed Rim in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 141,814.10).
