This artwork by Dai Jitao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy - Buddhist Scriptures sold for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 92,494.26) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy - Buddhist Scriptures the most expensive artwork by Dai Jitao that we have observed at auctions so far.
