Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu by Dai Jitao was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015. The price achieved of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 5,778.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dai Jitao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy - Buddhist Scriptures in May 2021 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 92,494.26).
