Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scholar Under Pine Tree by Da Chongguang was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,029.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Da Chongguang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Letters in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 110,084.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Scholar Under Pine Tree von Da Chongguang kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.029,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Da Chongguang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Letters im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 110.084,96).
