This artwork by Cui Jie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the 21st Century Art Day Sale auction, the work Steel Pulling Glass Curtain Wall 2 sold for HKD 730,800.00 (€ 87,575.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cui Jie; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Kunming Long-distance Telecom Hub Building sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 143,473.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cui Jie erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Steel Pulling Glass Curtain Wall 2 für HKD 730.800,00 (€ 87.575,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cui Jie; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Kunming Long-distance Telecom Hub Building im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 143.473,72).
