Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
The work Ground Invading Figure #32 by Cui Jie was worth HKD 352,800.00 (€ 37,772.77) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cui Jie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Kunming Long-distance Telecom Hub Building, which sold at auction in May this year for HKD 1,197,000.00 (€ 143,473.72).

Die Arbeit Ground Invading Figure #32 von Cui Jie war einem Käufer im April 2021 HKD 352.800,00 (€ 37.772,77) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Cui Jie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Kunming Long-distance Telecom Hub Building beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für HKD 1.197.000,00 (€ 143.473,72) versteigert wurde.
