Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cornelis Visscher achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Two lions, after Rubens sold for USD 47,880.00 (€ 39,456.12) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Visscher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Bohémienne in March 2016 with an auction result of EUR 205,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Visscher erzielte im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Two lions, after Rubens für USD 47.880,00 (€ 39.456,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Visscher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Bohémienne im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 205.500,00.
