Sold at the upper estimate price
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Seated Old Lady Holding A Knife by Cornelis Visscher. The auction ended at the price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 15,322.15), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Visscher achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Bohémienne in March 2016 with an auction result of EUR 205,500.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Seated Old Lady Holding A Knife von Cornelis Visscher zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 15.322,15) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Visscher erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Bohémienne im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 205.500,00.
