Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A landscape with waterfall by Cornelis van Poelenburgh was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,625.00 (€ 14,007.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Cornelis van Poelenburgh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Self-portrait in January 2021 with an auction result of GBP 100,800.00 (€ 113,990.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A landscape with waterfall von Cornelis van Poelenburgh kam im Oktober 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.625,00 (€ 14.007,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis van Poelenburgh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Self-portrait im Januar 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 100.800,00 (€ 113.990,80).
