This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 25,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Saftleven - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A cat peeping through a fence, which sold at auction in May 2005 for USD 441,600.00 (€ 357,599.81).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 25.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Saftleven mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A cat peeping through a fence beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für USD 441.600,00 (€ 357.599,81) versteigert wurde.
