Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Peasant Couple Smoking And Eating, Their Children With A Bowl Of Coals And Playing With A Dog by Cornelis Saftleven was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 24,703.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Saftleven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A cat peeping through a fence in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 357,599.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Peasant Couple Smoking And Eating, Their Children With A Bowl Of Coals And Playing With A Dog von Cornelis Saftleven wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 24.703,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Saftleven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A cat peeping through a fence im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 357.599,81).
