Auction result misses estimated price range
In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work A cattle market by a canal on the outskirts of town by Cornelis Saftleven for USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,021.74). This price was achieved in the auction Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Cornelis Saftleven have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A cat peeping through a fence in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 441,600.00 (€ 357,599.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A cattle market by a canal on the outskirts of town von Cornelis Saftleven für USD 63.000,00 (€ 58.021,74) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Remastered: Old Masters from the Collection of J.E. Safra - Selling Without Reserve bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cornelis Saftleven auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A cat peeping through a fence im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 441.600,00 (€ 357.599,81).
